Antigone Substitute Assignment - Due 2/2 at the end of the period.

The following TWO essays are due at the end of the period. You may use any extra time (which I doubt there will be) to prepare your speeches. The handout is on the table by the door and posted on the Blog.

Please take a photo of each essay using camscanner app and send the pdf to  jessupsenglish@gmail.com

Essay 1:

Write a response to literature in which you analyze the nature of Creon's and Antigone’s tragic flaw. Identify errors in judgment or weaknesses in character and indicate how this flaw brings about the causes of death and affects all of Theban society. Who better fits the definition of a tragic hero, Antigone or Creon?  Support your statements with examples and quotations from the play.

Essay 2:

"Feminism is the radical notion that women are people.”  Antigone has been described as a “pre-feminist” work.  Explore the validity of this categorization. Support your statements with    examples and quotations from the play.
