Imagine for a moment that Things Fall Apart is a true story and that the characters involved maintained personal  journals. These journals would increase the realism of the story by providing various points of view. Your task is to write 2 separate reaction diaries as Okonkwo for these chapters. You should try to convince me that You are the character you have chosen. Write as if you are experiencing the events in the novel first hand. Each diary should be one page long and include one or two quotes from the text. (100 pts.)

Read past chapter 13. Complete Dialectical Journal to 13.

 

Assignment 1: Compare and contrast the Wedding Ceremony in Chapter 12 to a wedding ceremony in your own cultural community. Why do you think Achibe included this in Part One and why is it Significant? 

 

Assignment 2: A) Consider Chapter 13 and explain which elements foreshadow the end of the chapter and which parts of previous chapters hinted at these events? B) What is the significance of this "female" offense against the tribe? How do male and female offenses differ?
