  1. In the "Holy sonnet 14" John Donne uses sexual content to show his stuggle why it is hard to do the right thing. He uses connotation to express his situation through images & words like 3PG , ENTRALL AND DIVORCE. He wants GOD to shine his mercy upon him but , he feels unworthy and come's off as being needy. His attitude shifts to being demanding and helpless becausem, his mind and flesh have took over to have a life of its own and the only person who can fight it is GOD. He isnt lined up with GOD and it makes him uncertain if he will ever be set free from sin.

  2. John Donne explores the contradictory relationship between salvation and reason by presenting the conflict that comes between our rational human nature and our spiritual human nature in order to exploit the hardships that come with submitting to Christ.

  3. John Donne demonstrates a detachment from christ because he is running from the things that God can do to help improve and restore human life to show that everyone at one point in time in life is not at war with anyone else but actually themselves.
